First of all thanks to Chris Parr and Steve Mera for sharing this sighting with us and thanks to the witness for releasing the photographs.

You can see why people are so sceptical when it comes to the evidence we have to support our beliefs in this strange subject of ours.

The object is certainly an attention getter.

Whatever it is, it’s reflecting sunlight and it’s also moving about.

Could it be a genuine UFO, well yes it could but let’s not loose pace here it could also be one of several things.

Eccles is not too far from Manchester City Centre and all around the vast area that is Manchester I am sure you will be able to find many advertising balloons. Could it be one of these that has escaped it’s tether, Yes it could.

Another possible answer could be a canopy from a large kite like the one used below for Kite Karting.

The image also has a tell-tale clue that this object was intended to be tethered to something.

look carefully and you can see something hanging down from the object's right.

I believe this story made it onto the BBC News Website but they did not have the pictures.

As ever you must always remain objective when investigating claims of UFO and Alien encounters.

The witnesses have never mentioned space or aliens, just the fact that they were at a loss to explain the sighting.

It is also obvious that no intention was made to fool anyone with the images by removing the clues as to what this might be.

Whatever the object was it was airborne and seemingly out of control.

The witnesses claim a second object was seen and was observed making an erratic turn at high speed. Well that would have made an interesting photograph and would have added credit to the actual suggestion of the first object being a UFO.

Like in so many alleged UFO cases the vital piece of back up evidence doesn’t appear to exist.

I am not doubting the experience of the witnesses but as the old saying goes ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ and without that evidence we can only examine the facts presented.

There are some crazy people out there with some crazy kites doing some crazy things.

I am sure it is quite possible these people lose their kites occasionally.

Having said that the object in the photographs seems bulkier, perhaps semi inflated.

I am pretty sure we may have an answer to what was caught on camera within these pages.
